Detailing a typical curved, in-situ,
Bridge Deck, with MultiREBAR

This web page will lead you to a series of web videos which demonstrate how MultiREBAR is used on a typical bridge detailing example, an in-situ r.c. bridge deck.

It takes you step by step through the process and shows how the detailed drawing and schedules are produced, and the various techniques required along the way. If you require more detail on using MultiREBAR then see the rest of the MultiREBAR Video Tutor which is available via the web or on DVD.

The example uses the BS8666:2005 detailing standard but many other standards are supported in MultiREBAR, as shown in the first video.

5.0 Bar Detailing and Scheduling: bars on section (7:00)

> Detailing Top bars on section : adding bars to "Stockyard" for bar mark clarity

> All code requirements such as minimum bend radius and bob lengths are checked and warnings given if violated

> A SC 99 bar only has to be defined once in the system
> Special bend radiuses can be defined if required
> A fully dimensioned sketch of the bar will be added to the schedule

Bars of any shape can easily be defined and added to the Library for use by any users on the network . They are scheduled automatically using a full dimensioned sketch as shown.

> SC 51 and 56 are illustrated
> Adding links to horizontal outline is preferred
> Bars are offset inside cover lines automatically
> Links will be called off on Plan View of deck

> Using Curved Range Markers for calling off bars
> MultiREBAR calculates total number of bars required and schedules them


> Using MultiREBAR to calculate and split bars into ranges over long distances
> Using Manual Detailing Method where non-true bars are detailed

MultiREBAR can also be used on all other bridge related detailing such as Pile Caps, Abutments, Retaining Walls etc. This triangular pile cap requires varying length bars to be calculated which is a standard feature in MultiREBAR, and is covered in detail elsewhere in our MultiREBAR Video Training.
